International structuring
Income and assets are structured internationally. There is a Dutch foundation with an underlying Dutch company that operates IKEA stores worldwide. In addition, there is a Liechtenstein foundation with an underlying Dutch company that owns the trademark rights and receives franchise fees, as well as a Swiss company engaged in financial activities, private equity and real estate. This makes IKEA a Dutch company whose financial flows run through Switzerland.
Protecting the legacy
